In recent years, the use of interbody cages has grown in popularity as an alternative to conventional bone grafts. The AFFINITY® Anterior Cervical Cage System offers an attractive alternative to current methods for treating disc disease in the cervical spine.
Broad Application
The AFFINITY® Anterior Cervical Cage System uses a threaded
cage, indicated for single-level anterior
cervical discectomies with fusion (ACDFs). The system's range of cage
sizes accommodates a wide variety of cervical
anatomies.
Basics and Benefits
The AFFINITY® Anterior Cervical Cage System features a lordotically tapered cylindrical design.
The AFFINITY® implants come in a wide range of cage sizes to accommodate a wide variety of cervical anatomies.
The versatile, straightforward design of the general instruments associated with the AFFINITY® Anterior Cervical Cage System allows for sizing of the disc space and end plate preparation. The slender design of the instruments allows visibility of the operative site. These instruments are designed for reproducible placement of the threaded construct, and color-coded to simplify the surgical procedure. A series of sequential, color-coded instruments guide the surgeon through the procedure in a simple, intuitive manner.
Indications
The AFFINITY® Anterior Cervical Cage System is indicated for anterior cervical
interbody fusion procedures in skeletally mature patients with cervical disc
disease at one level from the C2-C3 disc to the C7-T1 disc. Cervical disc disease
is defined as intractable radiculopathy
and/or myelopathy
with herniated disc and/or osteophyte formation on posterior vertebral endplates
producing symptomatic nerve root and/or spinal cord compression confirmed by
radiographic studies. The AFFINITY® Anterior Cervical Cage System implants are
to be used with autogenous bone graft and implanted via an open, anterior approach.
